We're pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Tim Hart Scholarship and Franck Hivert Scholarship. These annual awards recognize student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, personal development, and a commitment to the values learned through soccer.

This year's recipients exemplify how participation in sport can help shape future leaders, professionals, and community contributors.

2026 Franck Hivert Scholarship Recipient

The recipient of the 2026 Franck Hivert Scholarship is Mahek Saleh, who plans to pursue Health Sciences with the goal of becoming a physician specializing in sports medicine.

In her essay, Mahek shared how soccer has shaped her character, leadership style, and future career aspirations. She described learning to lead by example through positivity, accountability, humility, and consistent effort. Her experiences as a player taught her the value of respect, resilience, and maintaining focus during challenging situations.

Balancing competitive soccer with academics helped Mahek develop strong time-management skills, discipline, and a commitment to excellence. She also emphasized the importance of teamwork and communication, noting how these lessons have helped her succeed in school, volunteer activities, and leadership roles beyond the field.

Her passion for healthcare, combined with the values she has developed through sport, make her an outstanding recipient of the Franck Hivert Scholarship.

2026 Tim Hart Scholarship Recipient

The recipient of the 2026 Tim Hart Scholarship is Pranshu Bhingare from our U18 Boys Rep team. He’ll be enrolling in the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University's Double Degree program, taking math at Waterloo and business at Wilfred Laurier. His goal is to pursue a career in actuarial science, combining his passion for mathematics with business concepts to solve complex real-world financial challenges.

In his scholarship essay, Pranshu reflected on the important role soccer has played throughout his life. As a student in the demanding International Baccalaureate (IB) program, he described soccer as both an outlet and a source of personal growth. Through years of participation, he developed discipline, commitment, perseverance, and effective time management while balancing academics and athletics.

As he prepares for the next stage of his education, Pranshu plans to continue playing soccer while pursuing his academic and professional ambitions. His dedication to both personal development and lifelong learning makes him a deserving recipient of this year's Tim Hart Scholarship.

We congratulate both Pranshu and Mahek on their achievements and thank them for sharing their inspiring stories. Their dedication to academics, athletics, leadership, and community involvement reflects the spirit of these scholarships and serves as an example for future generations of student-athletes. We wish them both continued success in their post-secondary studies and future careers.
